Housing Affordability Strategy public engagement event

  • Date: Thursday, June 13th, 2024
  • Times: 2-4 PM or 6-8 PM - The same content will be shared at both times.
  • Location:  Royal City Mission 50 Quebec St, Guelph, ON N1H 2T4

The City of Guelph is planning an interactive, drop-in, station-based public engagement event!

Participants will have an opportunity to directly share their thoughts and opinions on draft actions and targets to be included in the City’s Housing Affordability Strategy. For example, what do you think about:

  1. identifying underutilized properties that could be converted to affordable housing; and
  2. considering the purchase of existing multi-unit buildings on the market that could provide affordable housing.

Participants will also reimagine and redesign the Housing Continuum so we have a new visual representation of all aspects of housing in Guelph. Each station will include a facilitator to have open conversations with and to hear your thoughts on how the City, working in collaboration with the County, could best influence the creation of affordable housing in Guelph, based on tools that the City can use. The stations will not be time-limited so you’ll have as much time as needed to discuss, create, and learn together.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided and we encourage you to share your housing experiences with each other. The event is open to the public and registration is not necessary.

Event date: June 13th, 2024 at 6:00 PM to June 14th, 2024 at 12:00 AM.
