It is important to allow for the Trans Canada Trail to pass underneath this new pedestrian bridge. If the bridge is constructed as shown then future options to improve walking and cycling accessibility in this area will be severely constrained by the buttress of the new pedestrian bridge. This bridge would therefore need be extended by 12’ to allow for future improvements to the trail link underneath. This would provide improved safety for trail users by eliminating the need to cross the busy Macdonell St.crossing.
