Thank you for your question. The right of way work planned for Baker Street, Chapel and Park Lanes strives to maintain as much parking as we can but at the same time upgrade all aspects of the streetscape in keeping with standard as outlined in the City of Guelph’s Linear Infrastructure Guidelines and Streetscape Manual. The proposed design does propose to keep some on street parking where possible and provide accessible parking spaces and loading zones. As with any construction project there will be disruption to parking, but in the short term parking is available at the Wilson Street Parkade, the Macdonell Street Lot, the East and West Parkades as well as at various on-street parking spaces in the vicinity.
There will be disruption from time to time to the businesses and residents in the area but the City will make efforts to maintain access and communicate when there will be disruptions.
The garbage bins you reference are clearly associated with the construction work underway at 2 Quebec Street and we hope that they are a temporary disruption.

Hello, I would like to know if any of the parking spots on Baker Street and Chapel Lane will be taken away. Currently, there are two parking spots already taken on Baker Street right next to Datamatrix Computers. If more parking spots will be taken away, our customers will have no spots to park. How long will those garbage bins be taking up those only two parking spots? Thanks.
