About Downtown Infrastructure Renewal Program (DTIRP)
The Downtown Infrastructure Renewal Program is a multi-year project focused on replacing aging sewers and watermains (some over a century old) to ensure safe and reliable service for generations to come. As we restore the area, we’re also taking the opportunity to upgrade roads, sidewalks and cycling facilities.
In addition, we’re modernizing the streetscape to make the Downtown Guelph more accessible, attractive, and welcoming for people of all ages and abilities. While streetscape improvements are a valuable secondary benefit, the heart of this project is about renewing essential infrastructure to support a resilient and thriving downtown.

Downtown Construction Office
Visit the office at 42 Wyndham Street North, Suite 202 to ask questions and learn more about the project. Office hours are Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

We have lots of parking to offer visitors in parking lots and parkades throughout the Downtown. Check out our lots, parking rates, and real-time parking availability before you leave home.
3-Hours of free parking is here!
Register your vehicle on Thursdays or Fridays at Market Parkade, or any day of the week at Macdonell lot for 3 hours of free parking. Learn more on guelph.ca

What's happening in 2 – 3 weeks from now:
- The construction will continue from Carden Street to Woolwich Street. More details are available on the construction notice.
- Sidewalk and streetscaping work will continue between Macdonell Street and Douglas Street and Quebec Street.
