Drew Park Revitalization
We’re excited to announce that we’re continuing with the revitalization of Drew Park!
After our last round of engagement, changes in project funding meant we had to put things on a short pause. Since then, we’ve secured the funding to finish the design work and proceed with construction in 2026.
Here’s what we’re expecting:
- Summer/Fall 2025 – Designs prepared for public engagement
- Fall/Winter 2025 – Finalization of a preferred design and share with public
- Winter 2025/2026 – Tendering process
- Summer 2026 – Construction begins
About Drew Park
Drew Park is a 0.29 hectare (0.72 acre) neighborhood park located at 29 Drew Street in the East Willow neighbourhood. The park was dedicated to the memory of George Alexander Drew who, among many other things, was the City’s youngest mayor at age 30. The park currently features a playground, two basketball nets, bench seating, large unprogrammed grass areas and many mature trees. Lots of the park elements are outdated and have reached the end of their serviceable life, so they’re ready for replacement.

Located at 298 Drew Street, Guelph
Drew Park is a Neighbourhood Level Park as defined in our Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
Neighbourhood parks are the building blocks of the park system. Neighbourhood parks are typically smaller, local parks that serve the needs of one neighbourhood. They include play areas, recreation amenities and green spaces that are close to people’s homes. They are meant to be easily walked to (500- 800 metres) so people can enjoy unorganized, unstructured and spontaneous activities.
