Eric Unger3 days ago I’d love to see Guelph Transit continue improving transparency and communication with riders. A simple, easy-to-find webpage that shares key stats like on-time performance would be really helpful. It would also be great to see more consistent real-time updates when there are delays, short-turns, crowding (ie. an overflow bus dispatched) or cancellations, so riders can plan accordingly. This data could be updated in realtime by the operations centre team and utilize "Transit app" data.With the opportunity for a new or updated website in the near future, and current software technology available, this feels like a great chance to make Transit one of the most visible and accessible departments. It will also help Council see where improvements are needed and how additional funding could make an immediate difference.

unknown author3 days ago I know the majority of commuters are the students so the 99N (to downtown) bus stop is placed closest to the University Center to facilitate the crowds. But because the 99N bus stop at the University Center is so 1-sided (at the very end), it makes catching the 99N for connection difficult. I take the 6 or 18 normally to the University, then connect to 99N to downtown - after getting off the 6 or 18, I have to walk to the end to catch the 99N. Sometimes I miss the connection and I end up adding 15 mins to my journey waiting for the bus. Would it make more sense to place the bus stops of major connection routes (e.g. 99) at the University Center to the middle? So that commuters don't have to run to the end to catch the connection in case the 1st leg is delayed.

unknown author3 days ago I would suggest to separate the numbering of the 99N and 99S. Honestly, I find it very confusing and I see many times people get on the wrong direction. A simple solution, for example, could be call 99 the north line and 98 the south.I understand the motivation of passing thought the major hubs, as Go transit station and university, but I find them very time consuming. I believe they should be transit and not add 5 minutes waiting time there. Also the route downtown is slow and packed with traffic when there is the train arrival.Another simple modification is to slightly change the route for line 20 and 11, which overlap from Willow@Silvercreek to the Go station, passing both from Paisley street. One of them could pass from London or Suffolk to cover a different area.

unknown author4 days ago With more Go Train Service between Guelph and Union Station in the future, I hope that the bus schedule will be aligned with the train station. Right now, every time when I ride the Go Train back to Guelph, I am seeing all these Guelph Transit buses pulling away from the station. e.g. weekend go train arriving at Guelph at 18:18 and most Guelph transit routes leave at every 15 and 45, so I am always shy of a few minutes and have to wait for at least 20 mins for the next bus. Not ideal in winter especially the indoor train station is closed. Hope the schedule can be adjusted a little bit.

Eric Unger4 days ago Add express runs from Walmart down to the south end that skip the stations. And/or runs between the 3 stations that skip all other on-street stops. ie. Walmart to GCS, Walmart to UC, GCS to UC, etc. Or keep it simple and just run one single express that only skips on-street stops and makes very quick stops at stations.The current problem: Sometimes it takes over an hour to get from north to south on the mainline a 16 minute drive) on Guelph's only high frequency route. Express option would be a game-changer for commuters. Yes it would add some confusion for riders boarding, but the bus could be clearly marked as something like "Mainline Express", "99X", or "99 No Stops". Exceptional signage could also explain this to riders. Other transit systems like Burlington, York Region, TTC, and Oakville manage to do this well. This should also consider upcoming expansion into Clair-Maltby area.

unknown author4 days ago As a daily commuter to the Guelph south End , It take 30 mins extra for a round trip from work to home and vice versa from downtown . If one of the bus were to bypass the university stations, the travel time for commuters can decrease significantly( most commuters taking the bus have jobs at South end in industrial or commercial area) plus we can divert the students to the already existing 99 express route (university centre ) resulting into the crowd management which we face after September till April every year
