Green Development Framework
About the project
The City of Guelph is developing a Green Development Framework (GDF), initially called Green Development Standards, to make building projects more sustainable. The framework will consider best practices, local climate adaptation needs, and input from the community. The GDF will be part of the City’s planning and approval process, applying to both new projects and redevelopments. Aligning with Guelph’s Official Plan and broader community objectives the GDF will address community greenhouse gas emissions, climate resilience, resource management, and equity considerations. Through the project we will consider factors such as, development density, renewable energy, biodiversity, waste reduction, and Guelph’s limited groundwater.
Please note: This project began in an older version of our website. Some of the tools and information may appear different than originally designed.
