Green Infrastructure Action Plan

We’re reviewing Guelph’s green infrastructure (GI) initiatives and presence to better understand the opportunities where we can improve and where we are doing well.

Infographic showing types of green infrastructure: natural, enhanced, engineered, and grey assets with examples.

The GI Action Plan will focus on developing internal supports and improving processes for existing programs as well as identifying areas where we can expand using our current resources. We are collaborating with Green Communities Canada and REEP Green Solutions to bring expertise and industry best practices to the project.

How can I participate right now?

We are looking to gather perspectives on how Guelph is doing in green infrastructure implementation and maintenance. We want to better understand where we need to preserve, restore, and expand GI presence across the city. Please fill out our green infrastructure mapping activity as part of phase 2, which will be open between November 17, 2025 and December 8, 2025.
