We’re re-imagining how places across Guelph are named. Help us understand your point of view around the stories we tell through place names by taking our survey.
In this survey, we talk about “place names”. Right now, we’re talking about all possible places owned or operated by the City such as buildings or even rooms inside buildings, streets, monuments, parks, bridges, trails. That may change based on our survey findings, but for now, that’s what we are talking about.

Think about places we have named in Guelph like McCrae House, St. George’s Square, Exhibition Park, Gordon Street or the River Run Centre. A process helped us to name those places, and we are looking to update that process to involve the community and select the names.
This survey should take up to 10 minutes to complete and all questions are optional. By sharing your thoughts, you can help us get that process right. We’ll use survey results, combined with other conversations and activities where we will learn from the community, along with research and best practices to begin developing the new process.
