What's on your parks shopping list?

How we get parks is primarily guided by the Planning Act and doesn’t always come down to money, but let’s consider how the City might purchase land that does not impact tax dollars with money we have saved up already.

You have $200 CAD to purchase parkland with. How would you divide up your spending?

Let’s pretend you have $200 to spend on parkland. Of course $200 won’t buy a whole park in real life, but we’ve listed land at costs between $20 and $200 for this activity. Select any combination of the following park categories to share how you might buy parkland within your budget

  • Neighbourhood park ($20)
  • Community park ($80)
  • A park that has a sports field hub ($200)
  • Save for major parkland purchases later ($40)
