Two people with blurred faces sit in front of a fountain. One person is holding an object near their mouth, possibly a vape or cigarette. On the right side, there are three white icons on a red background: a smoking cigarette, a vape device, and a cannabis leaf.

Smoking bylaw

This consultation is closed

In 2018, Council gave staff direction to engage on smoking restrictions that go beyond what’s in our current Smoking Bylaw, which mirrors the Smoke Free Ontario Act. Alongside our working group, we’d like to hear from the community on how they feel about the following proposed restrictions:

  • Three metres of any entrance or exit of a public buildings
  • City parks, trails and leash free areas
  • Three metres of transit stops
  • The grounds of all municipal properties, including City Hall
  • Outdoor festivals, special events or parades

Thank you to everyone who participated in Our survey. The results of the engagement and the report to council are available on our website.

Please note: This project began in an older version of our website. Some of the tools and information may appear different than originally designed.
