Speedvale Avenue East Reconstruction Phase 2 - Bridge Replacement

The Speedvale Avenue East Reconstruction Phase 2 project is reconstructing the bridge, road and underground utilities from east of Woolwich Street to Marlborough Road. Construction will include development of multi-use paths on the north and south side of Speedvale Avenue.

Construction

January 30, 2026 - December 17, 2027

Site preparation began in late January and the initial construction staging is being implemented on February 19, 2026.

There will be a lane change that will reduce traffic down to a single lane westbound across the bridge. Detouring traffic can use the Woodlawn Road East detour route by following project detour signage.
