Victoria Road, Stone Road and McQuillan’s Bridge EA Study

We are conducting a study to evaluate and recommend solutions for roads and bridges to improve the road networks at Victoria Road South and Stone Road East including McQuillan’s bridge (also known as structure 116). The study is based on recommendations in the 2022 Transportation Master Plan and the Guelph Innovation District Secondary Plan, which show upgrades are needed to several key roads in Guelph to support new neighbourhoods planned in the Guelph Innovation District. The project will study and recommend preferred solutions and preliminary designs for McQuillans Bridge and the roads and bridges at Victoria Road South and Stone Road East. The study will follow the processes outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA).

Through two phases of public engagement, we will be seeking input on:

  • The Problem-Opportunity Statement for McQuillan’s Bridge
  • The criteria that will be used to evaluate Alternative Solutions for McQuillan’s Bridge
  • Alternative Solutions for McQuillan’s Bridge
  • Alternative Design Concepts for Victoria Road South and Stone Road East

How can I participate right now?

In June 2026, City Council approved the Project File Report (PFR) documenting the feedback gathered and study recommendations for McQuillan’s Bridge.

The PFR will be available for public review from October 25 to November 26, 2026, on the City's project webpage. Anyone wishing to provide comments on the project, or requiring alternative accommodations to view the PFR, should contact the Project Manager (Kate Berry | Kate.Berry@guelph.ca) before November 26, 2026.
