About the project

We're upgrading infrastructure on a 275 metre section of Grove Street, east of Metcalfe Street. Construction will begin in April 2025. The work will include the replacement of the watermain, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, curb and gutter, sidewalk, retaining walls, driveway aprons, landscaping and asphalt paving. This includes re-grading driveways to match the new sidewalk grade, reconstructing the sidewalks to 1.5 metres wide, rebuilding the retaining walls, providing a dedicated parking lane on the North side of the street and repaving the driving lanes.

Review the information package for more information about the project, the impacts to you and what you can expect.

Further communication regarding grading impacts will take place as we progress with design details. After initial correspondence, individual site visits will be possible to discuss any additional details and concerns.

During construction, on street parking will not be permitted within the construction area. Residents will be expected to find other parking locations during construction. We have provided a map of nearby streets where on-street parking is permitted. You can find the map in the documents section of this page. We appreciate that this will be impactful to those who currently utilize the on-street parking currently available, and we thank residents for their patience throughout the design and construction process.

Will we be able to park in our driveway once the work is started

We will strive to maintain driveway access throughout the construction process. However, there will be times where driveway access will not be possible due to construction activities especially during working hours. Residents will receive notice of these impacts ahead of time.
