The Short-term Rentals Working Group

A Short-term Rentals Working Group was established in June 2022, and met three times to understand opportunities and challenges from targeted audiences before the City opened the conversation up to residents and visitors of Guelph. Applications to the working group were received from all across our community, and were selected to represent a diverse range of interests in our discussions on the topic. The working group is not a decision-making body; instead, they shared insights and feedback from impacted audiences.

Insights received from discussions with the working group are being brought to the community for broader conversations, surveys and engagement opportunities in November and December 2022 to validate earlier discussions and understand the varied interests across Guelph.

The working group will reconvene again in the new year to discuss our findings and help staff work through recommendations for the by-law.
